Following my 2021 “Out Of Adversity” lockdown project – a video showcasing Steve Clayton’s paintings
inspired by some of my songs from the early ’70s – several people have asked
about “Northern Lights”, a small segment of which plays out during both the
intro and outro of the piece.
“Northern Lights” has never been published in full; indeed,
the two short sections featured in “Out Of Adversity” are all that have ever
seen light of day.
There was only ever one take of “Northern Lights”. There
would no doubt have been others, but the Dandelion label folded during the
preparation phase for my third Dandy album (“High Mass”) of which “Northern
Lights” was to form a part. Thus, the whole project was canned, and the can was
sealed!
However, in view of a number of requests, this for the first
time is the full “Northern Lights” from 1972 by Beau & Tractor®.
It was fun to do and is of its time, but I hope you enjoy it!
