"The Ship" from "The Magic Of Public Relations"...

Since it came out a couple of days ago, I’ve had a trio of emails suggesting – in one case, telling me! – “The Ship” on the new “The MagicOf Public Relations” set is about the coronavirus epidemic. Sorry to disabuse, but it isn’t.

In fact, mixing the album was completed on Christmas Day last year (there’s devotion to duty!) long before COVID-19 struck in the UK; though in fairness it was already a couple of weeks out of the traps in China.

All that said, I agree like most decent songs in its genre, “The Ship” is certainly capable of multiple interpretations.
