String musings...

Just re-strung the Big 12, and I've been musing on how many times I've restrung her over the last fifty years. Pushing 100, I reckon - I usually re-string every six months or so. 

In the early days when I recorded the "Beau" album, I used C-tuning Mohawks from Germany. Then Mohawks became unavailable so I moved on to Cathedral.

Nowadays, it's custom D'Addario sets I have specially made up by Sound Unlimited in Plymouth. Sadly, you can't buy the down-tuned sets I need "off the peg" anymore.

Everything's become very standard...
